Skin Care Organics

What’s up with the “organic” movement?

“Organic” is currently the hottest buzzword in many of the products on the market today. Although many companies are cashing in on latest trend to go “organic”, are all products labeled “organic” truly natural?

The organic movement is also comprised of a lot of people like myself, who sincerely care about the difference between what is truly natural and what is man-made.

My quest for natural skin care products at the stores I shop in, even the “natural” stores, has brought me disappointment after disappointment. Products claiming to be natural, botanical, etc. contained long lists of ingredients that I don’t consider to be pure and natural. To me, natural is something I could eat if I wanted to. It’s like those Breyer’s Ice Cream commercials: if a kid can pronounce and eat it, then it’s food. Those are the only kinds of ingredients I want to put on my body.

We need to get back to basics…

Take water for example, one of the most natural and abundant elements on earth. Back in the day, I remember when water was just water, nothing else, and flowed freely from your tap. It had no flavor, no color, no calories, and no vitamins or minerals that Mother Nature didn’t put there. Sometimes less is more.

A little about me…

I was born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY, known for its toxic chemical production. I have long been aware that some chemicals are doing much more harm than good to people and the environment. Does anyone remember the “Love Canal” disaster in Niagara Falls in the late 70’s? If not, you can find info at http://www.epa.gov/history/topics/lovecanal/01.htm as well as numerous other places on the internet. Sadly, I had friends who lived (and died) there and played there myself often as a child.

Years ago, my young son cut his foot while playing in a creek near some of the chemical factories. It required several sutures and antibiotics. When I told the doctor where the accident occurred, he tripled the dose of antibiotics he had ordered. That’s when I knew I had to move my family away from the man-made chemical creeks and landfill hills where my children were playing.

Will we ever know the far-reaching effects of what we are doing to ourselves?

Nowadays…

It hasn’t always been like this, but nowadays I try to live as healthy a life as possible, without the use of man-made prescription drugs, some of which I believe are as harmful as what I left behind in Niagara Falls.

I exercise, choose very carefully what I consume, and lovingly care for my body with only natural and organic foods and herbal supplements. My family eats organic food, we buy organic home furnishings, and I clean with eco-friendly products whenever possible. It’s not just about organics here and there; it’s about the whole package.

Skincare Organix was naturally born…

Knowing that the skin is the largest human organ and absorbs everything that gets on it, why would I even consider smearing poisonous chemicals all over me? It occurred to me that others might feel the same way…

These are a few of the reasons why I created Skincare Organix, an online webstore that retails a wide variety of genuine organic, all natural skin care products for your face, body and hair.
